The SERVPRO First Responder Bowl will be played Friday, Dec. 26, at SMU’s Gerald J. Ford Stadium in Dallas, Texas. Kickoff time for the 16th edition of the postseason college football game is set for 7:00 p.m. (CT) on ESPN. “We are excited to announce that the 2025 SERVPRO First Responder Bowl will be part of the extended Christmas holiday weekend,” Brant Ringler, the bowl’s executive director, said. “The men and women who serve as heroes each and every day deserve to be recognized and thanked, and for our community to be able to honor them on a national stage is truly special.”
This is the seventh time that the game has been played on Dec. 26, the most common date in the bowl’s annals. It also matches the earliest game date in the event’s history. On Dec. 26, 2023, the game between Texas State and Rice had an attendance of 26,542, which was the largest crowd at Ford Stadium during the 2023 season. In December 2014, the bowl began honoring first responders, including police officers, firefighters, EMS workers, correctional officers, search and rescue, dispatchers, security guards, federal agents, border patrol agents and military personnel who have specialized training and are the first to arrive and provide assistance at the scene of an emergency. In 2018, the game was renamed to reflect the efforts to show appreciation to first responders.

The 23rd Lockheed Martin Armed Forces Bowl will be played on January 2, 2026. The 22nd Lockheed Martin Armed Forces Bowl was played on December 27, 2024, and featured the Oklahoma Sooners and the Navy Midshipmen. Oklahoma came out hot, scoring 14 points in the first quarter, but the Sooners were unable to stop the Midshipmen from scoring 21 unanswered points, highlighted by MVP Blake Horvath's 95 yard touchdown run to tie the game late in the 3rd quarter. The Sooners clawed back to score a touchdown with 6 seconds left in the game, but rather than kick the extra point and head to OT, they went for the win.
Navy DE Justin Reed made the game sealing sack on the 2 point attempt, and the Midshipmen won the game 21-20!
Owned and operated by ESPN Events, the Lockheed Martin Armed Forces Bowl has honored our nation’s heroes since 2006. For the past 20+ years, the Lockheed Martin Armed Forces Bowl has hosted fan-fest areas showcasing armed forces hardware, conducted flyovers before the game, held demonstrations by several of the military's top skydiving teams, awarded custom homes to wounded warriors, directed on-field induction ceremonies, showcased armed forces bands and honor guards, and given out the annual "Great American Patriot Award" (GAPA) presented by Armed Forces Insurance.
Amon G. Carter Stadium is located on the campus of Texas Christian University in Fort Worth, Texas, and home to the TCU Horned Frogs football team.
