The Promoter Line staff has over 100 years of combined experience in the entertainment and event planning industries, including production, promotion and management.


Jerry ThompsonJerry Thompson

Jerry started his industry career in 1982, working as a manager in the nightclub business. From 1986-1991 he was VP of Dallas Alley, an entertainment complex located in Dallas’ Historic West End. For 10 years (1991-2001), he served as President of the Caravan of Dreams performing arts center in Fort Worth. Promoter Line, Inc. was created in 1993 as an event production arm of this world-renowned entertainment venue.

Jerry's other event accomplishments include the development and execution of a nationwide NASCAR Concert Series; producer of the Sundance Square Concert Series in downtown Fort Worth; producer of the annual Charles Goodnight Awards banquet since 1993; co-producer of the 1999 grand opening and ribbon cutting festivities of the Nancy Lee & Perry R. Bass Performance Hall in Fort Worth; and a former partner and producer of the National Smooth Jazz Awards that began in Fort Worth and then moved to Chicago. He was also Assistant Artist and Media Coordinator for Farm Aid in 1988 at Texas Stadium. Jerry is an avid cyclist and has completed the seven-day RAGBRAI event across Iowa six times.

After earning her degree in accounting, Christie has primarily worked in the entertainment/hospitality industry in the Fort Worth area. Previous employers include: the national office of M.A.D.D., Fort Worth Chamber of Commerce, the Fort Worth Club, Caravan of Dreams, and Southwest Sports Group (owner of the Texas Rangers baseball team and Dallas Stars hockey team). In 1996 Christie went to work with Jerry Thompson at the Caravan of Dreams as the Controller and Box Office Manager. After the Caravan closed in 2001, Christie worked for many Promoter Line events including: WolfDance, Evening of Jazz, Bone Bash, GrapeFest, Southlake Oktoberfest, Main Street Days, Best Buddies bike rides, and many, many more events. Duties have ranged from supervising over 50 gate staff people for events with over 20,000 attendance; running merchandise for national acts such as .38 Special, Kevin Fowler, and Miranda Lambert; assisting with finish line setup and event day activities for bike rides held in Texas, Boston, Washington DC, Miami, and California; budgeting and equipment ordering along with many cash control duties at city festivals.


 

Cade TimsCade Tims

Cade joins the Promoter Line family on a full time basis after working part time for the company since 2000. Cade's first job was working part time selling tickets at the Caravan of Dreams while he was still in High School. After the closing for the Caravan Cade worked as an office manager at 2J's Automotive while attending classes at the University of North Texas where he earned his Bachelor's degree in 2012. All the while Cade was working part time for Promoter Line in a variety of different roles. Cade will be an integral part of your Sports and Festival divisions by assisting with the logistical details and on-site implementation at all of our events. When not in the office you can usually find Cade on the tennis court or watching tennis.


 


 

Ethel ChaneyChris “Ethel” Chaney
Manager of Route Safety and Permitting

Ethel began her entertainment career as a General Manager and Talent Buyer for Fitzgerald's in Houston from 1992-1995, bringing such acts to Texas like the Dave Matthews Band, Hootie and the Blowfish and the Gin Blossoms. Then from 1995-1999 she was a Booking Agent and General Manager for Alliance Entertainment Group in Dallas where she promoted local, regional and national bands and organized and executed special events such as the Dallas Observer Music Awards Showcase. After a brief stint with Parallax Entertainment, where she was responsible for the development of artists on Parallax Records, she joined the staff of Jerry Thompson at Caravan of Dreams as Marketing Director and has been working with Jerry ever since. After the closing of Caravan in 1999, their working relationship continued when she joined Promoter Line.

Ethel is a significant part of managing the company's bike tours, including several of the Bike MS rides and Best Buddies Challenges across the country. She is also very good at cat juggling.

 


 

Bill SykesBill Sykes
Manager of Sports Events

Bill is the manager of the Promoter Line East Coast office and is part of the Promoter Line Bike/Walk/Run Department. Bill owned and operated International Cycling, which organized Professional cycling teams from 1988 – 1995 including the IME/Panasonic Professional Cycling team and the Saab Professional Cycling team, as well as organized the Cyclo Cross Championships in 1986 and 1988. He founded the Myles Standish Stage Forest Road Race in 1980 and still is a vital part of it to this day. Since 2003, Bill has been the Logistics Director of the Best Buddies Friendship Rides. His responsibilities included organizing Federal, Local and State municipalities, vendors, venues and support staff, as well as managing, storing and maintaining Best Buddies’ 200+ rental bike fleet.

 

 


 

AustinAustin Caudle
Event Manager

After earning a degree in Marketing, Austin has gained wide-ranging experience in his business career, including banking, sales, and finance. He joins the Promoter Line team after most recently working on the North Tarrant Expressway in Northeast Tarrant County. This multi-billion dollar highway construction project provided a fast-paced environment where project management and inventory control were essential. His relationship with vendors and account management experience will be valuable tools in his role as an Event Manager.

Austin's ties to Promoter Line date all the way back to his high school days, where he worked part time selling tickets for the Caravan of Dreams. He is excited to be a part of the Promoter Line team.

When he isn't working, Austin enjoys playing golf, traveling, and spending time with his wife Anita, daughter Aubrey, and golden retriever Charlie.

 


 

MorganMorgan Blanton
Event Manager

Morgan was born and raised in Fort Worth, TX and loves everything country. Before Promoter Line, Morgan's career experience was in childcare, administrative assisting, and a wide variety of volunteer work. As an Event Manager for Promoter Line Inc., Morgan brings a level of motivation, integrity, organization and dedication to its fullest.

Outside of work you can find her spending time with family, working out, eating Mexican food, and country dancing.

 

 

 


Preston Steblein
Event Manager

After working part time for the company since he was in high school, Preston joins the Promoter Line family on a full time basis. He has already worked numerous events in a variety of roles but is excited at the opportunity to continue providing a five-star event experience in a full-time role.

In 2014, he completed his Business Administration degree concentrating in management and marketing. He has previously worked as a full time tennis teaching professional, where he learned time management and top-notch customer service skills. His prior experience along with his educational background, have prepared him to fit in seamlessly at Promoter Line.

If you catch Preston outside of the office, he is probably playing tennis, working out, or relaxing with his fiancé, Shelby, and their dog Sterling.

 


 

OscarOscar Pleitez
Graphic Designer

Oscar graduated from the Academy of Irving, a high tech, career oriented high school, at which he specialized in visual arts and communications, with an emphasis in advertising design. He became self-employed shooting portraiture, designing logos, websites, and other graphic materials for his clients.

In 2011, Oscar joined the Promoter Line family as a seasonal event staff member. He's worked many events including Lewisville Western Days, Southlake Oktoberfest, Mesquite Real. Texas. Festival., events at Sundance Square like Main Street Arts Fest and ESPN events, Armed Forces Bowl, Walk and BikeMS events, and Best Buddies Challenges around the country. His responsibilities have ranged from ticket and merchandise sales, to barricades, designing site maps, and event photography.

Now a full time office team member as Graphic Designer, Oscar incorporates his design experience, creativity, and eye for detail, into his daily work.

Outside the office Oscar enjoys the arts, entertaining, traveling, and hiking.


 

Jennifer SkaggsJennifer Skaggs

Jennifer has joined our staff full time after working many of our events over the past ten years. She has done many duties at our events including cash handling, traffic and crowd control, working with festival vendors and assisting the site manager with various duties. Jennifer has worked WolfDance, Western Days, Main Street Days, Sundance Square events, Southlake Oktoberfest and several other events. Two years ago Jennifer moved to Spokane, Washington with her husband Eric (who has also worked many Promoter Line events.) Besides working with Promoter Line, Jennifer has a background working in customer service and office management. Jennifer and Eric are in the processing of building their first home and are excited to be a part of the Promoter Line family on a full-time basis.

 


 

Kenneth DavisKenneth Davis

Kenneth Davis’s experience with Promoter Line dates back to 1992 when he joined the company as a runner.  Quickly rising up through the ranks, he became a quintessential member of the crew and has been expanding his knowledge of stage building and production for over 20 years. From loading and unloading gear to specialized work with sound and lights, Kenneth has done it all.  Several years ago his efforts were rewarded through his promotion to Crew Chief.  Kenneth brings to Promoter Line years of experience, hard work, dedication, and a wealth of technical knowledge with over 20+ years in the railroading industry.  He would like to state for all to know that he considers it a privilege to work for Promoter Line where everyone works seamlessly together as a team to provide exquisite entertainment.
